New York State is closing more of its mass vaccination sites in an effort to focus more resources on areas where the rate of COVID-19 vaccination is lower. With New York on the mend from the COVID-19 pandemic, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that the state will start beginning to downscale some of its mass vaccination sites. With the supply of the COVID-19 vaccines beginning to outweigh the demand in New York, mass vaccination sites will soon be accepting walk-in appointments for all adults across the state. More New Yorkers will now be eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced that beginning at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, March 10, the vaccine distribution eligibility would be expanding to include any New Yorker age 60 and over.
