Blaze Breaks Out At Nursing Home In Ardsley
Firefighters raced to a nursing home in Westchester after a fire began in its attic. The blaze broke out just before 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 20 at the Atria Woodlands assisted living facility at 1017 Saw Mill River Rd. (Route 9A) in Ardsley, according to the Ardsley Fire Department. After arriving at the facility, firefighters soon learned that the blaze had sparked in the attic near a washer machine. Driver Injured In 2-Car Crash In Front Of Historic Manor In Westchester
A two-car crash in front of a historic Northern Westchester manor-turned-museum caused injuries, firefighters said. The incident happened in Croton-on-Hudson on Saturday, Sept. 7 at around 7:20 p.m., when two vehicles collided in front of Van Cortlandt Manor on South Riverside Avenue, according to the Croton-on-Hudson Fire Department. Arriving fire crews dealt with a fluid spill from one of the cars while EMS treated a driver injured in the crash. Both vehicles were later towed away, the department said. The cause of the crash was not released.

Injured Hiker Rescued From Park In Westchester
First responders were seen rushing to a park in Northern Westchester to help out an injured hiker stranded in the woods. The rescue happened on Friday, Aug. 24 around 4:15 p.m., when first responders learned a hiker was injured and stuck in the woods at the back of Gedney Park in Chappaqua, according to the Millwood Fire Department. Arriving crews brought a backboard and stokes to the hiker's location and safely took them out of the woods. The hiker was later loaded on an awaiting ambulance, the department added.

A driver was hospitalized after crashing into a still-under-construction house in Northern Westchester. The crash happened on Wednesday, Aug. 14 just before 12:30 p.m., when a vehicle collided with a house on Muscoot River Road in the town of Somers, according to the Somers Volunteer Fire Department. The incident causing serious injuries happened on Friday, March 15, in Manhattan. A two-vehicle crash caused a busy Hudson Valley intersection to close for almost an hour and caused injuries. The collision happened in Putnam County on Sunday, July 21 just after 5:30 p.m., when two cars crashed at the intersection of Route 6 and Croton Falls Road (Route 34) in Mahopac. A 22-year-old man faces several charges after leading officers on a chase with a moped in Westchester, during which one was injured, police said.
