Man Killed In 2-Vehicle Crash On Busy Road In Westchester A 50-year-old man was killed in a crash after his vehicle was struck by a vehicle on a busy Northern Westchester road, police said. The crash happened on Monday, Aug. 12 around 2:40 p.m., when a vehicle hit a motorcycle at the intersection of Stoneleigh Avenue and Route 202 in Somers, according to New York State Police.  A preliminary investigation into the crash determined that a Mercedes-Benz driven by a 60-year-old woman from the Putnam County neighborhood of Kent Lakes had been traveling northeast on Route 202 when it tried turning left onto Stoneleigh Avenue.  At this point,…

61-Year-Old Man Dies After Hitting 'Roadkill,' Crashing In Westchester A 61-year-old Hudson Valley man was killed after his vehicle left the roadway. The accident took place in Northern Westchester County around 6:30 p.m., Sunday, June 11 on Dogwood Road in Cortlandt. According to New York State Police Trooper Steven Nevel, the unidentified man from Putnam Valley was driving a 1998 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he crashed. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Man Killed In Head-On Westchester Crash An investigation is underway after a motorcyclist was killed in a wrong-way crash in Northern Westchester.  The crash happened in North Salem at about 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12, according to New York State Police. A 2014 Harley Davidson motorcycle was eastbound on Titicus Road near Oakridge Road when, for unknown reasons, the motorcycle entered the westbound lane and struck a 2007 BMW SUV head-on, according to state police. Westchester Man Killed In Single-Vehicle Taconic Parkway Crash A Westchester man was killed in a single-vehicle crash on a stretch of the Taconic State Parkway  in Putnam County. It happened on Monday, Aug. 17 at around 1:30 p.m. in the town of Kent. Robert J. Costabile, 69, of Valhalla, was operating a 2016 Harley Davidson motorcycle on the northbound side near Hortontown Hill Road when, for unknown reasons, was unable to negotiate a curve and lost control before leaving the roadway, state police said. Costabile succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. This investigation remains ongoing.

Motorcyclist Injured In Crash With Dodge Ram Driven By Westchester Man In Danbury A motorcyclist has been hospitalized after a crash involving a Dodge Ram driven by a Westchester man on a busy roadway in Fairfield County. It happened around 4 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 24, Danbury Police said. The motorcyclist, Bretburton Clark, 25, of Brookfield, was operating a Harley Davidson southbound on Federal Road in Danbury when it struck the 2012 Dodge Ram driven by 51-year-old Pedro Borgesserrafim, said police.  Clark was rushed to Danbury Hospital. Massive $29.4M Recall Issued By Harley-Davidson Because Brakes May Not Work Harley-Davidson is recalling more than 250,000 motorcycles that could cost the company upwards of $30 million after discovering a deficiency in its brakes that could cause them to fail. The voluntary recall includes more than two dozen bike models that were produced between 2008 and 2011 with anti-lock brakes. The international recall includes 251,000 motorcycles, with an estimated 175,000 of those sold domestically. It is expected to cost Harley-Davidson at least $29.4 million.
