Pedestrian Seriously Injured In Hit-Run Incident An investigation is underway after a hit-and-run incident resulted in serious injuries to a pedestrian late Friday afternoon in Rockland County. The incident occurred around 5 p.m. at the intersection of Franklin Avenue and S. John Street in Pearl River. The pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle described as a silver colored Hyundai SUV bearing an unknown NJ registration, the Orangetown Police Department said. 111-Year-Old Hudson Valley Man Dies, Survived By 108-Year-Old Wife Duranord Veillard of Spring Valley, who was believed to be the oldest resident in the Hudson Valley, died Friday, June 1, at the age of 111. Although officials records are not kept, Veillard's family members and his wife Jeanne Veillard, believed them to be area's oldest married couple, having been married since 1932. Jeanne turned 108 in May. Born in Haiti to Miciade Toulou and Tatice Veillard on Feb. 28, 1907,  Veillard studied law and served as a judge for a number of years in his hometown before immigrating to the U.S. in the late 1960’s.   He moved to Spring Valley were he able to get…

Arriving officers discovered that the toddler had been struck by a 2017 Toyota Sienna driven by her father. Hudson Valley Woman Killed After Being Hit Shoveling Snow By Tree Police are reporting that an 88-year-old Hudson Valley resident who was clearing snow was hit and killed by a falling tree as one of the largest storms to hit the area in years moved through the area.
