A suspect with ties to Westchester and Fairfield County has been sentenced to probation for his role in a shootout with a police officer in 2017.
Jerry Reyes, 23, who lived in New Rochelle at the time of the shooting, but now resides in Greenwich, was sentenced to three years of probation after pleading guilty in Westchester County Court to criminal possession of a weapon following a shootout with Yonkers police officer Kayla Mayer.

Two men from New Rochelle have been indicted on attempted murder charges for their roles in the shooting of a Yonkers police officer last September.
Jerry Reyes, 22, and Frank Valencia, 18, have been indicted on charges that include criminal possession of a weapon, attempted aggravated murder and assault for their roles in the shooting of Police Officer Kayla Maher last year. The pair is due to be arraigned in Westchester County Court on Tuesday.
