2 State Troopers Hospitalized After Crash In Upstate NY
Two New York State Police troopers were seriously injured after a weekend crash. It happened around 2 a.m. Saturday, March 23, in Rensselaer County on I-90 in the town of East Greenbush. An investigation determined a tractor-trailer struck the vehicle that the two troopers were in from behind. The troopers were at the scene after responding to an earlier crash. Both troopers were taken to Albany Medical Center with serious injuries, were treated, and have since been released. The incident happened around 2:50 p.m. Friday, March 8 while the UH-72 Lakota chopper was flying over the US-Mexico border near Rio Grande City, Texas, according to the Joint Task Force North. Police have released new details in the search for a missing New York teenager who may have traveled hours away from home. Rensselaer County resident Chante Ballo, age 17, of East Greenbush, was last seen shortly after 11 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 8, near Robert Lane and Red Mill Road. A Hudson Valley resident who was one of two men arrested in a fatal three-car crash on I-90 was driving drunk with two young children in his vehicle, according to state police.
