Construction To Back Up Traffic For Weeks In Business District In Westchester A construction project is expected to cause delays for over two months in a busy business district in Westchester County.  Beginning on Monday, Jan. 3, a gas main replacement project will begin in the Rye Central Business District, which will include Purchase Street between Purdy and Locust Avenues, according to the City of Rye Police Department.  During the replacement process, which is expected to take between 10 and 12 weeks, on-street parking will not be available and the street will only remain open one way. The New York State Department of Transportation announced that beginning on Monday, Jan. 25, the East Lincoln Avenue Bridge over the Hutchinson River and the Hutchinson River Parkway at exit 12 (East Lincoln Ave/Mount Vernon/Pelham) in the City of Mount Vernon and the Village of Pelham is expected to close in both directions. Taconic State Parkway Double-Lane Closure Scheduled There will be double lane closures for several days on the Taconic State Parkway for several days. The New York State Department of Transportation announced that daily between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. from Wednesday, Dec. 18 through Friday, Dec. 20, there will be two southbound lanes closed on the parkway in Yorktown. Tappan Zee Constructors (TZC) is scheduled to re-stripe the westbound lanes near the new bridge beginning on Friday night, Jan. 19 requiring lane closures on I-87 and I-287.
