A 23-year-old Fairfield County resident who was killed in a horse riding accident was known throughout the area for her love for animals and her dedication to creating a career in equine rehabilitation. East Islip High School graduate Samantha Calzone, 23, of Greenwich, was killed Monday, Sept. 16, after falling off a horse at a family farm in Dover Plains on Byrds Hill Road, said the New York State Police. Nancy Elliott, Yorktown's first female supervisor, died Thursday, July 11 in Hillsborough, North Carolina. She was 89. "We are saddened to learn of the passing of Nancy Elliott, a former chair of the Yorktown Republican Town Committee and political legend who served 12 years as Yorktown supervisor from 1980 to 1992," Yorktown Republican Town Committee chair Christopher Arnold said in a statement. Westchester Man Wanted For Sex Assault Of Minor Taken Into Custody
A Westchester man wanted for sexual assault of a minor has been taken into custody in Greenwich, police say. Greenwich Police say 61-year-old Julio Molineros of Port Chester was picked up by bail enforcement agents and turned over to the department after the court issued a re-arrest warrant on Monday, July 15. Police say Molineros was investigated for the sexual assault of a minor child in late 2016.
