A 36-year-old Connecticut man who was caught with illegal weapon kits in Westchester County will spend several years in prison for trafficking a large number of ghost guns from his New Haven County home. Ansonia resident Melvin Burroughs, age 36, was sentenced to 58 months in prison on Thursday, July 27 for trafficking firearms, the US Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York announced. NY State Police Increase Patrols At Jewish Centers, Synagogues After Pittsburgh Mass Shooting
This story has been updated. New York State Police will be increasing patrols around Jewish centers and synagogues after a mass shooting at a Pittsburgh synagogue on Saturday morning, Gov. Andrew Cuomo announced. Eleven people were killed at Tree of Life Congregation in the Squirrel Hill section of Pittsburgh during a baby-naming ceremony. UPDATE: A 29-year-old man accused of killing four people in a Tennessee waffle house shooting this weekend was in custody, authorities said Monday afternoon.
