Hastings' M.L. King Falls In State Basketball Final

HASTINGS-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. - The Martin Luther King High School boys basketball team fell one game short Saturday, losing to Argyle 58-33 in the state Class D basketball championship game in upstate Glens Falls.

The Tigers (14-10), who had won six straight games through the postseason playoffs, were outscored 33-10 in the second half after trailing 25-23 at halftime.

Rajien Griffin led the Tigers with 15 points and joined teammate Jermaine Shaw as members of the Class d All-Tournament team.

Argyle completed a perfect 24-0 season and won its first boys state basketball title.

Martin Luther King finished the season as champions of Section 1, which includes Westchester, Rockland and Putnam counties, and the New York State Southeast Regional.
