Dobbs Ferry Football Seeks To Improve To 2-0

DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. – The Dobbs Ferry High School football team looks to continue its successful start to the season when it travels to Burke Catholic in Goshen, N.Y., on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.

Dobbs Ferry defeated Haldane, 19-8, on Sunday in its season opener. Tim Soave ran for three touchdowns in that game.

Soave will once again be key for the Eagles on Saturday, as his ground game has been a staple for Dobbs Ferry for several seasons.

Burke Catholic (1-1) is a team from Section 9 that lost, 10-7, in its section championship game last season and finished 9-1. But the Eagles graduated their top four rushers from last season, which could cripple an offense that averaged 195.7 rushing yards per game last season and just 70.7 passing yards per game.

Ultimately, Soave could prove too much for Burke Catholic as the Dobbs Ferry Eagles seek to move to 2-0. The Eagles are the defending Class C state champions.
