SLEEPY HOLLOW, N.Y. Spencer Avalos scored three goals and teammate Matt Latainer added a pair of goals Monday as the visiting Dobbs Ferry boys lacrosse team defeated host Sleepy Hollow 8-4.
Avalos, a standout quarterback and defensive back for Dobbs Ferrys state champion football team last fall, added an assist and helped the Eagles open a 6-1 halftime lead.
Grant Giglio, John Yozzo-Scaperrotta and Ryan Moynihan each added a goal for the winners, who are 5-0 so far this season.
Dobbs Ferry goaltender Muhammad Hashami stopped 10 shots on goal to earn the victory.
