Juliet Gevargis-Mizimakoski was appointed at the Board of Education meeting on Tuesday, June 18 and will begin her new position in July, according to Kristopher Harrison, Superintendent of Schools.
Gevargis-Mizimakoski comes to the district after many successful years as an Assistant Principal and Social Studies teacher in surrounding areas. The decision was made following an “extensive search process” that included feedback from members of the school community in various focus groups.
“Ms. Gevargis-Mizimakoski proved to be a great match for the IHS students, faculty and staff,” said Harrison. “She is a passionate educator with strong interpersonal skills and is an experienced instructional leader who is prepared to lead our great school to an even brighter future.”
Opportunities to meet Principal Gevargis-Mizimakoski will be announced in the future.
