IRVINGTON, N.Y. -- Irvington Union Free School District’s Director of Technology Jesse Lubinsky was awarded the Lower Hudson Regional Information Center (LHRIC) 2016 Distinguished Technology Leader Award at a ceremony on May 13.

LHRIC is the technology leadership and support division of BOCES that serves the Lower Hudson Valley.

“This award is particularly meaningful for me because of the past history of recipients who have been real innovators in our region and whom I consider to be friends and mentors,” Lubinsky said.

Three LHRIC Pioneer Awards are presented every year to a school district, teacher and director from technology from the Westchester, Rockland and Putnam county region in recognition for their innovative uses of technology that change teaching and learning. Award winners are chosen through a nomination and committee selection process.

According to LHRIC, Lubinsky was recognized for being a positive leader in moving technology forward in his district, being passionate about educational technology and launching initiatives that have sparked innovative change in his district.

“The District has taken significant, innovative steps forward in its integration of technology into student learning,” Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kristopher Harrison said. “Jesse’s hard work and support of the faculty has truly helped us advance our efforts to provide rich learning experiences to our students.” The 22nd annual Pioneer Award ceremony was held at the Edith Macy Conference Center in Briarcliff Manor.
