Ardsley School District Welcomes New Students, Staff

ARDSLEY, N.Y. – The Ardsley School District welcomed approximately 132 new kindergartners and another 59 new students for the 2015-16 school year, according to Superintendent of Schools Lauren Allan.

The enrollment increases at the other schools were as follows, according to Allan: 22 at Concord Road;, 28 at Ardsley Middle School and nine at Ardsley High School.

In addition to new students, the schools also welcomed new teachers and staff. 

At Ardsley High School, Rudy Arietta and Jon Hirsch formed a new leadership team July 1. Also joining the staff at the high school are Natalie Folloro, psychologist; Peter Lee, physics; Yuko Ashida, earth science; and Brandon Milonovich, computer science and math.

JoAnne Januzzi was appointed interim principal at Ardsley Middle School, replacing Edgar McIntosh, who was appointed the director of curriculum and instruction in the Briarcliff Manor School District.

Stu Horlacher was appointed Ardsley Middle School assistant principal in July and brings 14 years of experience in the district to the AMS leadership team.

New English teacher Kimberly Perillo, and Jessica Barney, special education teacher, also joined the staff at the middle school.

Concord Road School welcomed Dan Sheridan, fourth-grade; Alexandra DeLello, fourth-grade; Jodie Brenner, third-grade; Roisin O’Rourke, first-grade; Rebecca Phillips, kindergarten; Jennifer Chin, literacy; Michelle McStine, literacy; and Petra Tovisova-Serafini, psychologist.

The community is invited to meet new staff members at the Board of Education meeting Tuesday, Sept. 8 at 7 p.m. in the Ardsley High School library.
