PAPD Lt. Joseph Macaluso ordered Nldamak J. Ashman, 37, of Irvington out of the 2003 Ford Expedition SUV around 1 a.m. after it barreled through a restricted employee-only zone, crashed into a cone line and entered the flow of traffic with cones wedged underneath, severely damaging a tire and rim, the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo said.

Ashman “was unsteady on his feet and swaying” and “had an extremely strong odor of alcohol on his breath” Pentaneglo said.

He “failed field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for DWI” before refusing a breath test, he said.

Ashman was charged with DWI, cail jumping refusing to submit to a breath test, reckless driving and driving with a suspended license.
