During the detail, which was “conducted in furtherance of (New York State Police’s) mission to ensure highway safety for all users of the roadway,” on Tuesday, Oct. 23, troopers issued 56 tickets for speeding, distracted driving and other vehicle and traffic violations on the busy roadway.
The latest enforcement period comes on the heels of several others in recent months. Last month, more than 50 tickets were issued during a similar detail on I-684.
Earlier this year, a motorist who was busted driving nearly 100 mph was among 88 drivers issued summonses. Two others earlier details this year net troopers more than 150 tickets for various violations.
