IRVINGTON, N.Y. -- The Irvington Police Department has welcomed its newest police officer to the force.

Jessica Huth officially joined the department on Thursday, according to a post on the Irvington Police Department Facebook page.

The officer joins Irvington after spending more than two years working with the Mount Vernon Police Department, according to the post, which wishes her "good luck for a long, safe and successful career."

By Saturday morning, the Facebook announcement had garnered more than 90 "likes" with some on the social media site taking a moment to wish Huth the best.

"Good luck from a former (Irvington Police Department lieutenant's) kid," wrote Facebook user Brian J. Hannon. "Keep an eye on Grinnel St. for me."
