DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. - Mary Ellen Shannon of Dobbs Ferry died June 1. She was 83.
Shannon was born in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada, daughter of Joseph and Anne Walsh. She was a resident for Dobbs Ferry for many years before residing in Sleepy Hollow.
Shannon is survived by her son, Frank of Sleepy Hollow; daughter, Mary of White Plains; daughter-in-law, Alison; four grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sisters, Rita Feehan, Theresa Brown, of Canada; and brother, Kevin Walsh of Canada. She was predeceased by her parents; husband, Francis; son, John; and daughter, Patricia.
Calling hours are Wednesday, June 5 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Edwards-Dowdle Funeral Home, 64 Ashford Ave., Dobbs Ferry, NY 10522. A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, June 6 at Church of the Sacred Heart, Dobbs Ferry.
