Video Shows Truck Crash That Led To Hours-Long TZ Bridge Span Closure

Dramatic video footage of the accident involving an overturned tractor-trailer hauling scrap metal that led to the closure of the northbound lanes of the Tappan Zee Bridge for nearly five hours Friday has been posted on YouTube.

The crash, which occurred just before 9 a.m., was between the Tappan Zee Bridge Tarrytown tolls and the TZB span, with backups on I-287 stretching back to White Plains, creating a Friday traffic nightmare.

Southbound lanes were initially also closed after the crash.

The driver of the dump truck was not injured, state police said.
