DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. Dan DAngelo, owner of The Village Soccer Shop in Dobbs Ferry, said he will be taking his business down the road to Tarrytown where he hopes to see more foot traffic.
This is just something that came up, it wasnt planned, he said, adding that the new spot has "good rent, great visibility and parking. It was too good to pass up.
It doesnt necessarily mean the closing of his Dobbs Ferry shop, however, as DAngelo said he is still undecided about whether he will shut it down.
Im not 100 percent yet, he said.
The decision by DAngelo could potentially leave yet another empty storefront in the downtown area, though. DAngelo said the neighboring village may be whats best for his shop.
Tarrytown in the spring and summer, its packed, he said. I just like the vibrancy of new people coming to town, new faces, the music hall, people coming up from the city.
While he said his time in Dobbs Ferry has been nothing but positive, DAngelo said the lack of parking in the downtown deters local foot traffic.
Its all about location in retail, he said. It just seemed like this would be the next step.
His new location will be on Main Street in Tarrytown and DAngelo said he hopes to start renovating the shop by the end of the month so he can transition throughout the spring time.
DAngelo said hell be providing updates about what to do with his Dobbs Ferry location on his Facebook page.
Right now Im just kind of going with it, he said.
