Rivertowns Villages Receive Added Funds For Infrastructure Fixes

RIVERTOWNS, N.Y. - Hastings-on-Hudson, Ardsley and Dobbs Ferry are among a dozen Westchester communities that will receive funding for infrastructure improvements from New York State.

New York state Sen. Andrea Stewart-Cousins said the municipalities in the 35th Senate District will receive the funding from the Consolidated Highway Improvements Funds that were allocated but not distributed.

Cousins, the Democratic Conference Leader, said the 35th District will receive $939,793 in CHIPS aid in the 2013-14 budget.

Ardsley will receive a total of $104,628, which is $22,150 additional. Dobbs Ferry has been allocated $111,171, which is an additional $23,552. Hastings receives $139,514, which is $29,699 additional.

Irvington will receive an additional $19,044 to its $93,952 of state funding.

“After several years of stagnant funding, this is welcome news for the localities here in Westchester County that have been struggling to provide much needed improvements to our aging infrastructure, while at the same time keeping property taxes under control,” Stewart-Cousins said.

Westchester County will receive an additional $164,429 to its budgeted $2,726,112.
