DOBBS FERRY, N.Y. Police said a 15-year-old male was robbed at knife point on Oct. 27 between 5:15 and 5:30 p.m. on Appleton St. Police said the victim was walking home when an unidentified male approached him from behind, said he had a knife and not to turn around. Police said the victim had $4.50 in his pockets, which he gave to the suspect. Police gave a description of the suspect as a black male wearing tan work boots.
Police said a 12-year-old resident of St. Christophers School was assaulted by an 18-year-old and 20-year-old resident on Oct. 24 around 7 a.m. Shabaz Hall, the 18-year-old resident, was arrested and charged with endangering welfare, while Jonathan Melendez, the 20-year-old resident, was arrested and charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and endangering welfare. Police said Hall had attempted to restrain the victim and pushed him against a wall knocking a shelf off the wall. Melendez then came in and after a verbal confrontation put his hands around the victims neck and put him against the wall causing scratches, according to police.
Police said two male residents of Childrens Village were arrested and charged with juvenile delinquency after taking a staff members purse from her office. The 14-year-old and the 15-year-old males were arrested on Oct. 25 after police said they took the purse which contained two credit cards and a checkbook. Police said the juveniles attempted to flee, but were stopped by staff members.
A 14-year-old student at the Masters School reported that her MacBook Pro laptop was stolen on Oct. 25 between 12:20 p.m. and 3:05 p.m. Police said the student left her laptop on a shelf outside a classroom while at lunch. Upon returning to the shelf the laptop was missing, which police said is valued at $1,800.
Mercy College reported a larceny complaint to police after unidentified people had continued to rummage through dumpsters removing metal scrap between Oct. 12 and Oct. 20. Police said the metal scrap was from items such as window frames and the various scraps were valued at approximately $2,000.
