The restaurant, situated on the Hudson River next to the Hastings-on-Hudson train station, is designed in the style of a farm-to-table Tuscan restaurant.
The menu features brick oven pizzas, burgers, paninis, shellfish, antipasto, cheeses, soups, pasta, fish, salad, steak, rabbit, oxtail, venison and more.
Of note is the Maple-Brook Farms burrata, made from fresh cow's milk and served with grilled bread and fresh tomatoes ($12); and the Carpaccio Di Manzo - thinly sliced filet mignon with micro arugula, aged parmesan, virgin olive oil and sea salt ($14).
For the more adventurous, there is the Trippa Alla Romana, which is roman-style tripe with tomato, parmesan, pecorino and garden mint ($12).
Harvest on Hudson is owned by the Fort Bay Pond Company, which owns Dobbs Ferry favorite Half Moon, along with several restaurants in Montauk.
Corporate Chef Vincent Barcelona, who oversees each restaurant, tailors his menu items to the best local ingredients from around the Hudson Valley.
His approach is rustic in reverence of his Italian roots. He even cures his own meat on site.
"It's a lost art," he said. "I tell a lot of people, 'I'm an Italian kid.' I grew up with this stuff. We wanted to bring our tradition back into our lifestyle. This is the restaurant."
The menu ranges in price from fairly inexpensive to well above $20 per entree. Lunch is price fixed at $19.95 which includes two courses. Dinner entrees run from $20-$38, if you don't count the $90 black angus porterhouse steak for two.
Several champagnes, seasonal cocktails, imported and domestic beer, and wines are offered.
The structure is that of an old warehouse, redesigned to fit the restaurant's needs, including a full bar, two private dining areas and a large, sweeping dining room flooded with natural light.
Outside is the garden, which is filled with eggplant, tomatoes, herbs, lavender, and other vegetables.
Garden seating is available and comes with a special menu featuring the produce that surrounds you. The outside dining patio overlooks the Hudson River and the Palisades, providing a handsome backdrop to your meal.
Harvest on Hudson runs several specials every week, and can be booked for events including weddings - however, they're booked through 2016.
All major credit cards are accepted and parking is available on-site. For more information about Harvest on Hudson including their hours, check their website here.
