Owner Mike James, a Yonkers native, opened his "new" record shop - a throwback to the days when record buyers flipped through stacks of albums in local music stores - in May. Clockwork is tucked in at the Spring St. parking lot, a short walk from the Hastings train station. Jake Shaps runs Clockwork with James and the duo boast a vast collection of almost every genre of vinyl, a sizable CD collection, and unique assortment of band merchandise.
James said he loves music and wanted to share that love through his new business. He favors hardcore punk and his favorite bands are Black Flag, Agnostic Front, and Misfits, who will make an appearance at Clockwork this Saturday to promote their latest release "DEA.D. ALIVE"
Visitors to the signing will meet the Misfits and automatically be entered to win a highly-collectible, signed, original pink cover vinyl pressing of the Misfits 1982 classic "Walk Among Us".
Clockwork Records is open any Wednesday-Saturday 10 a.m.-7 p.m. and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
