Fatal Crash Closes Route 202 Stretch In Rockland This story has been updated. Route 202 in Ramapo remains closed following a fatal three-vehicle crash near Spook Rock Road, Ramapo police said. The crash took place around 7:25 a.m., Wednesday, April 3, near Spook Rock Road, police said. Route 202, which is also known as Haverstraw Road, is closed between Spook Rock Road and Wilder Road, Ramapo police said. All three drivers taken to local hospitals by Springhill and Ramapo Valley Ambulance, where one was pronounced dead, police said. Roadwork Alert: Latest Round Of Resurfacing Scheduled In Rockland Motorists should expect delays as contracting crews begin their latest road resurfacing project in Rockland. The Rockland County Highway Department issued an alert on Thursday advising that beginning at 7 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, roadwork will be performed along Highview Road from College Road to Maple Avenue in Ramapo. There will also be work on Lime Kilm Road, from Route 202 to Wilder Road. Work is expected to be performed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Delays are expected for several days. Downed Tree, Wires In Ramapo Causes Delays On Wilder Road Motorists are being asked to use caution in the Wilder Road area of Ramapo while Rockland County Highway and Orange & Rockland Utilities employees work to remove a tree from the roadway, according to Ramapo Police. Area homes have been without power since about 5 a.m. when the tree fell, bringing wires down. Motorist should avoid the area until further notice.
