Fasny Scholarship Awarded To Rockland Student, Volunteer Firefighter The Firemen’s Association of the State of New York has awarded the 2018 FASNY Gerard J. Buckenmeyer Volunteer Scholarship to a student from Rockland County. Sara Ferraro of West Nyack received a certificate and college scholarship of $1,500 for her volunteer service as an EMT with the New City Volunteer Ambulance Youth Corps from Chan Rivera, member of the FASNY Board of Directors. “I have a passion for helping people, and joining the ambulance corps gave me a platform to pursue this passion," Ferraro said.
