Police Identify Spring Valley Man Stabbed To Death Walking Home From Family Event Police have released the identity of a 21-year-old Hudson Valley man stabbed and killed while walking home from a family event. Rockland County resident Stalin De La Cruz, of Spring Valley, was killed around 3:40 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 20 on Van Orden Avenue. De La Cruz was discovered when a police officer was flagged down for a report of a man stabbed on Van Orden Avenue, said Det. Matt Galli, of the Spring Valley Police. Overnight Homicide Under Investigation In Spring Valley An investigation is underway after an overnight homicide that occurred near an intersection in the Hudson Valley. The Rockland County incident happened in Spring Valley in the area of Van Orden Avenue and Franklin, the Spring Valley Police Department announced Saturday morning, Aug. 20. Details on the victim as well as suspect or possible suspects have not yet been released. Spring Valley Suspect Nabbed After Assaulting, Choking Woman Walking Home A 23-year-old man has been arrested and charged after a woman was assaulted in Rockland County. The incident on Wednesday, Sept. 9 at 11:30 p.m. in Spring Valley. Police say the woman reported being attacked from behind and thrown to the ground while she was walking home on Van Orden Avenue. The woman said she was then choked.
