Bergen County Child First Person In U.S. To Carry Exotic Longhorned Tick A child in Bergen County is the first person in the U.S. to have been found carrying an exotic tick species discovered by researches last fall, scientists announced Tuesday. The child carrying the Longhorned Tick was not bitten and tests by a private lab revealed no pathogens in that tick, according to the Rutgers Center for Vector Biology at Rutgers University–New Brunswick. It was not known where the child was from.
