Teen Admits To Fatally Shooting Man At Apartment Complex In Spring Valley A teen has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the shooting death of a Hudson Valley man in 2019. Jayden Rodriguez, age 19, from the Township of North Bergen, New Jersey, made the plea on Tuesday, May 1, for the homicide which took place in Spring Valley, according to Rockland County District Attorney Tom Walsh. The Town of Haverstraw will have the testing site set up by noon Wednesday, April 28, according to state Assemblyman Ken Zebrowski. Man Convicted Of Sexually Abusing 8-Year-Old Rockland County Girl A 41-year-old man has been convicted of the sexual abuse of an 8-year-old Rockland County child. Johnny Lozier, of Albany, was convicted of sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child on  Thursday, Feb. 6, said the Rockland County District Attorney's Office. Haverstraw Police Detective Calls It A Career After more than 30 years on duty, the Haverstraw Police Department said goodbye Friday to one of their most beloved officers, Detective Eleuterio "Terry" Collazo. Collazo called it a career after 31.5 years of dedicated police service to both the Village and Town of Haverstraw.  He was a police cadet in the Village of Haverstraw in the 1970's before being hired as a police officer in 1987 with the Village of Haverstraw Police Department, the department said on Facebook. Rockland Welcomes 155 New Americans During Naturalization Ceremony Rockland welcomed 155 new Americans on Friday, Feb. 2, during a touching Naturalization Ceremony at the Fire Training Center. Rockland County Executive Ed Day spoke during the ceremony about the importance of getting involved in the local community. Numerous local officials attended the ceremony, which was organized by Rockland County Clerk Paul Piperato, who administered the Oath of Citizenship. The new citizens came from 43 different nations.
