Car Overturns In Two-Vehicle Rockland Crash
The driver of a van in Rockland County overturned after being involved in a two-car crash, police said. Shortly before 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 22, first responders were dispatched to the intersection of Prospect Street and Fairview Avenue in Nanuet where there was a report of a rollover crash. Members of the Clarkstown Police Department, Nanuet Fire Department, and paramedics from Nanuet and Rockland Paramedic Service responded to the scene. Two teenagers were killed and a third was injured after a Porsche crashed off of an overpass onto train tracks before bursting into flames in Rockland County. The two-vehicle crash happened just before 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 13 in Pearl River on Route 304 in the vicinity of the Crooked Hill Road overpass. Propane Gas Leak At Storage Tank On Route 303 Causes Road Closures
A stretch of Route 303 was shut down for several hours in Rockland County as first responders dealt with a leaking propane storage tank, police said. First responders were dispatched to the Beckerle Lumber Supply Company on Route 303 in Orangeburg shortly after 1:50 p.m. on Wednesday, July 17. Upon arrival, it was determined that a large propane storage tank that is used to fill smaller propane tanks was leaking gas. Firefighter Injured Battling Monsey House Fire
A Monsey home was destroyed by fire as firefighters worked in hot, humid conditions to battle the blaze. The fire started around 3 p.m., Tuesday, July 2, at the home on Mapleleaf Road, said the Ramapo Police Department. Multiple fire departments were called to the scene due to the difficult conditions including working in void spaces due to the construction of an addition to the home, officials said.
