Man Accused Of Firing Gun Inside Home In Ramapo A Hudson Valley man has been charged with allegedly firing shots at his home. The incident took place in Rockland County in the Hillcrest area of Ramapo on Greenridge Way on Monday, Dec. 19. Responding units from the Ramapo Police were directed towards a specific home where the gunshots were believed to be coming from, the department said on Facebook. An investigation found that the 48-year-old Hillcrest man who lived at the home had allegedly fired the shots, police said. Body Of Rockland Man Recovered From Ramapo River, Suffern Police Say A 33-year-old Rockland County man was found dead in the Ramapo River after going swimming early in the morning. The incident began early Thursday, July 2, when the Village of Suffern Police responded to the area after being notified by a village employee of a missing man in the river, said Suffern Police Chief Clarke Osborn. Community Rallies Around Family That Lost House To Suffern Fire The community is rallying to support a family that lost its home to a massive structure fire on Wednesday in Suffern, just weeks before the holidays. Shortly before 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 5 firefighters from multiple area departments were called to Washington Avenue in Suffern for a fully-involved structure fire.
