ID Released For Woman Struck, Killed By Train In Hudson Valley Metro-North officials have identified the woman struck by a New Haven Line train in Westchester. Aurelia Franchitti, age 21, of Woodside, in Queens, was fatally struck after stepping in front of an eastbound train at Rye Station around 5:15 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 28, officials said.  Earlier report: Person Killed After Stepping In Front Of Train In Rye The MTA Police are investigating the incident.  Officials said at this early stage in the investigation, the incident does not appear criminal or accidental in nature.

Covid-19: Metro-North Announces Schedule Changes For Hudson Valley Riders Metro-North will be restoring some weekend service lines for Hudson Valley riders as New York continues navigating through the COVID-19 pandemic. The MTA announced that beginning on Monday, April 12, weekend service will be returned to Wassaic and include service adjustments on the Harlem Line weekday schedule to accommodate track work. Officials said that beginning on April 12, Metro-North will begin replacing the track switches north of the Hartsdale station. Those track switches will allow trains to be switched between the two main tracks on the line.  The …

Person Struck, Killed By Train In Hudson Valley A person was killed after being struck by a Metro-North train overnight. The incident happened in Westchester County shortly before 9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, just south of the Port Chester station, near the Kohl's Shopping Center. After trains were initially held at the scene, New Haven Line customers experienced delays of 45 to 50 minutes, according to Metro-North. Covid-19: Here's When Latest Metro-North Schedule Change Starts As ridership continues to plummet to historic lows amid the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the MTA announced it will once again be altering the schedule for Metro-North trains. Beginning on Monday, April 13, Metro-North will operate on an hourly schedule on the Hudson, Harlem and New Haven lines during both the weekdays and weekends. The Pascack Valley and Port Jervis lines will remain on Saturday schedules, with hourly service at some points of the day. 16-Year-Old Dies After Being Struck By Train In Hudson Valley The 16-year-old boy who was struck by a Metro-North train in Westchester has died, according to MTA officials. The incident took place at the Pelham station around 5:45 p.m., Monday, Nov. 18, when the teen was struck, said Aaron Donovan, spokesman for Metro-North.  The teen was rushed alive by emergency personnel to an area hospital where he later died, Donovan said. Following the event, New Haven Line rush-hour trains were delayed by up to 50 minutes as a result. Susan Singer, 57, of Ossining, was hit around 7 a.m. between the Hawthorne and Valhalla stations, said MTA officials. A commuter alert was put in effect on Wednesday morning for Metro-North and Amtrak riders, as law enforcement agencies conduct anti-terror training activities at many stations in the area. Metro-North experienced delays into and out of Grand Central Terminal due to a speed restriction resulting from track work starting at the tail end of the morning commute and continuing into the early afternoon. In a statement issued just before 8:30 a.m., Metro-North advised customers on the Harlem, Hudson and New Haven lines to listen for announcements at local stations. Delays were as long as 20 minutes at times.
