The incident took place in Ulster County around 4:45 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 6 at the Mobil Station on Route 209 in the town of Wawarsing. Daniel McKoy is wanted by New York State Police in Wurtsboro for criminal possession of a weapon and bail jumping. Police said that McKoy was initially arrested on the weapons charge and the bail jumping charge was later tacked on when he was arrested in California and extradited back to New York. Area Man Admits To Burning Cat, Kitten To Death An Orange County man has pleaded guilty to animal cruelty and bail-jumping after he burned a kitten and a cat to death in a cage. Dee Jay Atkins, 55, pleaded guilty Thursday to aggravated cruelty to animals and second-degree bail jumping, confirmed the Orange County District Attorney's Office.  During his plea, Atkins admitted that on Aug. 6 he caught the cat and kitten in a cage, poured lighter fluid on them and then lit them on fire, killing both, the DA's Office said.
