Rockland Community College Opens Muslim Student Center

RAMAPO, N.Y. – Rockland Community College opened a Muslim student center Thursday with a ceremony attended by students and school officials, according to lohud.com.

The school's Center for Muslim Life is intended to be both a gathering spot for Muslim students and for outreach toward others at the college, said lohud.com.

There will also be a Muslim Student Association, led by student Sidra Ijaz, reported lohud.com.

Ijaz said the new center and student association are part of a move to "educate and bring people together," according to lohud.com.
