If Ramapo does opt to move forward with the idea, it will join the Nyack, Clarkstown, North Rockland and South Orangetown school districts, all of which have approved such measures, according to lohud.com.

While the proposal would cut taxes for veterans, it would shift the burden to others in the district, according to lohud.com.

The public hearing is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Thursday in the district administration building, 45 Mount Ave., Hillburn, according to lohud.com.
