A reason among longtime residents opposing the idea is taking "Ramapo" out of the name could be a "blow to the area's heritage," said lohud.
The proposed plan came up last fall when the district's strategic plan work was underway, a matter administration, board members, faculty and the community were involved in, according to board President Theresa DiFalco, the report said.
