Delhomme denies directing Assistant Building Inspector Jackenton Lavalasse to issue a certificate of occupation as a favor to Delhomme's political donor and friend, Alex Goldberger, who was a contractor for the school at 50 Commerce St., lohud.com said.
Delhomme wrote a letter dated Dec. 10 to Lavalasse accusing him of lying and issuing other certificates without legal authority, the story said. In that letter, Delhomme acknowledges he was involved in Lavalasse issuing a second memo in September that doesn't accuse the mayor of giving an order, lohud.com said.
