Spring Valley Mayor Accuses Building Official Of Lying In Court

SPRING VALLEY, N.Y. -- Spring Valley Mayor Demeza Delhomme said a building official lied in court last month and on a memo in August when he accused Delhomme of ordering that a certificate of occupancy be issued for a school even though safety inspections weren’t completed, according a story on lohud.com.

Delhomme denies directing Assistant Building Inspector Jackenton Lavalasse to issue a certificate of occupation as a favor to Delhomme's political donor and friend, Alex Goldberger, who was a contractor for the school at 50 Commerce St., lohud.com said.

Delhomme wrote a letter dated Dec. 10 to Lavalasse accusing him of lying and issuing other certificates without legal authority, the story said. In that letter, Delhomme acknowledges he was involved in Lavalasse issuing a second memo in September that doesn't accuse the mayor of giving an order, lohud.com said.
