The Main Line train #1115 had just left Hoboken 10 minutes earlier en route to Suffern when the unidentified woman leapt from the platform (below) at 12:48 p.m., said Dan Stessel of NJ Transit.
She was pronounced dead at the scene, he said.
No injuries were reported among the 70 passengers, Stessel said.
They were passengers were transferred to a following train and had their trips delayed by about a half-hour, he said.
No significant delays were reported on any of the other tracks.
