The break occurred on Victory Road in the village around 2 p.m., Ramapo police said in a Facebook post.
It took the water company, Suez (formerly known as United Water), about three hours to fix the 8-inch main, according to spokeswoman Deb Rizzi.
The road was closed while repairs were made, but has been re-opened, police said.
Police said some properties sustained damage from the overflowing water. The road itself was also damaged, they said.
Suez was unable to confirm this, or the exact cause of the break, Thursday.
