Joined by authority detectives in the area on an unrelated matter, Officer Nicholas Colletti chased the man down after he ducked into a construction site and couldn’t make it over a concrete wall.

Colletti had stopped the 2011 GMC U-Haul truck as it headed onto NY Plaza from the Watts Street, in violation of “All Trucks Must Use Canal Street” signs, the authority’s Joseph Pentangelo told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this morning.

Suddenly, the driver — identified as 23-year-old Travon S. Barrow of Brooklyn — got out and ran west on Canal Street and then north on Greenwich, Pentangelo said.

The pursuing officers caught him at 15 Renwick St., he said.

He told them his license suspended and he didn’t want to be arrested, Pentangelo said — adding that Barrow’s license had been suspended four different times.

Barrow was taken into custody on charges of resisting arrest and aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
