Kevin P. Clark, Jr. of Highland Falls, was charged with a litany of offenses after an investigation revealed he burglarized a South Nyack residence, according to the South Nyack-Grand View Police Department.

The burglary incident was reported in the early morning on Sunday and was investigated by the South Nyack-Grand View police, who arrived at the residence in South around 1:45 a.m.

According to Police Chief Brent Newbury, the victim and Clark met through Tinder and went on a date earlier that night, and had returned to her apartment. The pair, along with the victim's roommate, were sitting outdoors when Clark excused himself to use the bathroom.

It was at this point that the second victim observed Clark through a window rummaging through their belongings before she called 911, Newbury said.

When the officers arrived Clark was still on the scene and was found in possession of jewelry, cash, and electronic device belonging to the victims. Newbury said the department has dealt with property incidents in the past where two people have met online but this one was unique because the suspect was still present when they arrived.

Clark was charged with two counts of second degree burglary, grand larceny in the fourth degree, and criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree, all of which are felonies. Additional charges included criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree and petit larceny, both misdemeanors.

Clark was arraigned in South Nyack Justice Court and later was transported to Rockland County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.

South Nyack-Grand View police cautioned the public about allowing people met through such apps into their homes.
