Teen Found With BB Gun Had Active Warrant Out Of South Nyack, Police Say

ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. - A Rockland County teenager with a warrant out for his arrest was busted in Spring Valley after allegedly shooting a BB gun at street signs.

The Ramapo Police Department received reports of a man with a black handgun walking on Robert Pitt Drive shooting the signs at approximately 8 p.m. on Thursday night, leading to an investigation.

Police later tracked down the 19-year-old Nanuet resident - whose name was not released - who told responding officers that he had a black BB gun in his pants, which resembled a police weapon.

After securing the weapon, it was discovered that the teen had an active arrest warrant from South Nyack for an undisclosed charge. The teenager was subsequently arrested and is currently awaiting transport to the South Nyack-Grand View Police Department on the warrant.
