The unnamed suspect had been arrested in February after, police said, he broke into the woman’s Suffern apartment and beat her up while her toddler was sleeping nearby.

The man faced multiple charges in the February case, including burglary, assault, and endangering the welfare of a child, police said.

According to police, he had been sent to the Rockland County Jail on $20,000 bail in February and was later released, but failed to show up in court as scheduled.

While out on bail, he called the victim several times and threatened to hurt her, police said.

The man was traced to New City and arrested by Suffern detectives Monday, police said.

He was once again sent to the county jail, this time on $10,000 bail, police said.

According to a prior report in the Daily Voice, police were called in February by a 25-year-old woman at an apartment building on Oakdale Manor who said she had been sleeping when the suspect suddenly appeared in her bedroom and started punching and slapping her.

Her tiny son was sleeping nearby, police said.

When she tried to call for help, he grabbed the phone out of her hand, threatened to kill her and swung a bottle at her, the woman told police.

She managed to escape to another room, where she called for help.

The suspect, who apparently had gained entry to the woman’s home through an unlocked bathroom window, was grabbed and cuffed while trying to exit the building, police said.
