Spring Valley Man Charged With Repeatedly Stabbing Housemate, Police Say

SPRING VALLEY, N.Y.  --  A Spring Valley man is in serious condition Wednesday after being stabbed repeatedly by another man during a fight at their home at 8 Hazel Court in the Hillcrest section of town, according to the Ramapo Police.

Officers found Guerdy Jimmy Mauricette, 27, sitting on a bed bleeding from various parts of his body where he had been stabbed  around 1:10 a.m. Wednesday, said Detective Lt. Mark Emma.

Rockland paramedics and Spring Hill Ambulance Corps responded and transported Mauricette to Nyack Hospital were he is listed in serious condition with stab wounds to his chest, shoulder, head, and right leg, Emma said.

While at the scene of the stabbing, Ramapo officers were notified that Vladimir Alexis, 27, also of 8 Hazel Court, turned himself into Spring Valley Police Department and told them he had been involved in the stabbing, Emma said.

Ramapo police responded and interviewed Alexis who told officers there had been some kind of verbal and physical fight and that he had stabbed Mauricette with a kitchen steak knife, Emma added.

Alexis was arrested and charged with second-degree attempted murder, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
