Spring Valley Man, 20, Charged In Stabbing

RAMAPO, N.Y. – A Spring Valley man faces assault and other charges after he stabbed another resident in the hand, Ramapo police said.

Jonathan DaSilva, 20, was arrested around 1 p.m. Tuesday, after police responded to a report of a stabbing at a home on Brook Street.

The 20-year-old unidentified victim was treated at the scene and later taken to the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center in Suffern for further medical attention, police said.

DaSilva has been charged with second-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said.

He was arraigned in the Town of Ramapo Justice Court and sent to Rockland County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail, police said.
