As soon as 33-year-old Prentiss Campbell of Staten Island reached the New York side, authority police took him into custody, spokesman Joseph Pentangelo told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

Bicycles are prohibited on the roadways of all Hudson River crossings.

As it turned out, Pentangelo said, Campbell  had an active warrant out of Manhattan from a year ago — for failing to answer charges of riding his bike on a city sidewalk.

Campbell was arrested, along with his mother and brother, after a 2011 raid turned up cocaine, measuring scales and drug paraphernalia at their home, the Staten Island District Attorney’s Office said.
