According to police, several larcenies have occurred recently involving parked cars that were left unlocked.
"This area has seen vehicle larcenies on the rise in the form of suspects simply opening unlocked vehicles and taking valuables," police said.
In other instances where valuables were plainly visible in locked cars, the items were taken after a window was smashed, police said.
Area residents are urged not to leave valuables inside their cars. If valuables must be left, they should not be left visible to anyone outside the car, police said, adding that car doors should also be locked.
