Ramapo Police Department Investigate Violation Of Protection Order

RAMAPO, N.Y. -- Ramapo Police investigated a violation of an order of protection that occurred yesterday after they found the suspect in Spring Valley.

When law enforcement officers arrived, the suspect was not present so Ramapo officers continued to search for the suspect during the tour, and located him in the late afternoon.

The 42-year-old male from Spring Valley was arrested by Ramapo police officers and charged with criminal contempt. He was arraigned by a Ramapo Justice and turned over to Suffern Police for an outstanding warrant. 

On June 28, Ramapo Police handled 122 calls, including: 13 alarm activations, six medical emergencies, two fires, and five arrests including charges for criminal contempt, vehicle and traffic misdemeanors, and a bench warrant. 

Ramapo Police responded to nine motor vehicle accidents on Tuesday. They occurred on Monsey Boulevard, Monsey; Darby Road, Airmont; Carlton Road, Monsey; Route 59, Monsey; Route 59, Airmont; Henry Court, Montebello; East Eckerson Road, Hillcrest; West Eckerson Road, Hillcrest; and Main Street, Monsey. One accident involved an injury, and one accident was a hit and run.
