Nanuet Woman Charged With Drug Possession

POMONA, N.Y. -- Ramapo police said they have charged a 35-year-old woman with drug possession and driving with a suspended license.

The Nanuet woman was stopped in Pomona around 11 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 18, for a minor traffic infraction, police said.

The arresting officer discovered that she didn’t have her driver’s license and had three separate suspensions as well, police said.

She was also found to be in possession of unprescribed controlled substances, police said.

The unidentified woman was turned over to Spring Valley police on an outstanding warrant from their jurisdiction for dangerous drugs, Ramapo police said.

Ramapo police also investigated: 11 motor vehicle accidents in the following locales: Hillcrest (4), Monsey (3), New Hempstead (1), Kaser (1), Northeast Ramapo (1), and Wesley Hills (1).

All accidents were property damage only; two were hit and runs, police said.

On Thursday, Feb. 18, Ramapo police also handled 147 calls for service including: 13 medical emergencies, 17 alarm activations, one fire, and five arrests.
